Youth and Family Ministry
End of Summer Wrap-up- July and August were busy months- so I will quickly summarize what all happened! First, we had our annual summer lasertag event. We had 3 hours of lasertag fun, with 15 people attending the event. Next was the highlight of the summer- the 2010 National Youth Gathering. After 2 years of fundraising, we finally made the trip to New Orleans. Our group was: Morgan Gill, Morgan Bomhoff, Rachel Lynch, Rachel Pickett, Mathew Peters, Jacob Ryan, Cody LaFever, Kelsey Jordahl, James Peters, Josh Hoffman, Christine Ryan, and Rebecca Hoffman. The group REALLY had an amazing time. Some of the trip highlights were the bus tour of the lower 9th Ward, the servant event at the Leonidas house, and taking communion during the mass event with 25,000 other people. The week was truly an amazing and life-changing event! The next summer event after the gathering was the summer pool party, a big thank you to Brad and Anna Bomhoff for graciously hosting our group. Finally the summer activities concluded with the “last fun before school” Six Flags trip.
Rally Day- It’s time to kick start the fall church schedule! On September 12th, our congregation will be celebrating our fall kick off with Rally Day. This year we will be doing things a bit different by having our celebration immediately after church. We encourage everyone to dress casually to church on this day, so they can participate in all the activities! We will be grilling out hamburgers and hot dogs after church. Following lunch we will play games outside including classics like cow chip toss and watermelon seed spitting, along with some new games like Nintendo Wii and other surprises! Rally Day is a fun time for the whole family and friends- so please invite everyone to church on this day.
WOW and Wednesdays are changing- Starting Wednesday September 15th our Wednesdays will be changing! Confirmation will kick off the evening @ 5:15-6:15. Then we will be offering a meal from 6:00-7:00. The meal will be prepared by somebody different from church each week! The cost will be a free-will offering. We will also offer games for kids and education topics for parents and families. Then at 7:15 we will have our contemporary worship service-WOW. So please check out our Wednesdays, take the evening off from cooking and enjoy some WOW!
Fall Bowling League- Bowling is back on Mondays! Starting September 13th, we will again be having our fall church bowling league. This is open to all ages and skill levels. We are looking for six teams to start the season and still need more bowlers! A sign-up is on the church bulletin board; otherwise you can contact Josh (715-891-2743) to
